Lost in Wonderland

This is the first of the shoots for the workshop. The concept for this was dreamed up by Jessica Avery of The Cotton Exchange. It was a spin on Alice in Wonderland. Her version was Alice in Wonderland (Burton version) meets The Gatsby (flapper era.) The shoot was set up like a story and ran from “light” to “dark.” We had SO many amazing entires for the models, it was impossibly hard to narrow it down… but these two did an amazing job. Jessica did a phenomenal job pulling this together.. even making several of the props, including the “doll house,” (which she was inspired by a Vogue magazine shoot for) and the table runner, which was hand written quotes from the book! Jessica is based in Houston, Texas but does travel. Hair and makeup by, of course, the amazing Tiffany P of Smokin’ Hot Makeup (who is based in Paris, Tx but also travels.) I cannot brag about her enough!

A huge thank you to Bois D’Arc restaurant in downtown Paris for letting us take over for a day for the shoot. Be sure and check them out!! Flowers were donated by The Flower Mart, who does an incredible job!! (They’ve also donated some amazing prizes for the open house!) Thank you to SoHo for loaning us the AMAZING lace dress for the first half of the images. Paris Community Theatre loaned us Alice’s black dress for the 2nd half of the shoot. Both of the head pieces were custom made by Stephanie or La Couture Amore in Houston.. who is ALSO amazing. I’ve photographed SEVERAL of her pieces and they never disappoint!! Then of course our Alice inspired cookies were made special by Candace of GirlsandCake. They look incredible!!! We were SO excited about how they turned out.
