HOME, static electricity and new shoes.

So I’ve been planning on posting updates for ohh…. probably a couple of months now.. but I always get sidetracked and begin returning emails.. or editing so I decided to zone everything else out for 15 minutes and just do it.

I initially intended on documenting this every few days… BUT of course life happens and I’m lucky if I make it down to the house with a camera a few times a month, much less a few times a week. Usually the only time I bring a camera is if Briley is with me and thats only because I usually always have at least my point and shoot with me incase I NEED to take a picture of her. ;) I’m going to try to ACTUALLY blog it regularly like I originally planned.. but for now here is a quick skim through the process. (Beginning with buying the land in November 2008, digging out and building up the house pad in July 2009 and then finally getting the concrete poured in April 2010!) Due to LOTS (and lots and lots and lots) of rain… everything was pushed back. The closing, the concrete, etc. The initial plan was to be in the house before Briley was born. The house is approximately 400 feet from the road and B hauled in 10 loads of rock for our driveway.. but the rain just kept packing it down. At times we couldn’t even drive our trucks down the driveway without getting stuck, must less workers or a concrete truck.. so we waited.. AND waited. (Ironically you’ll notice standing water in the 2nd image while the house pad was being dug out.) Finally there was a break in the rain and things got rolling and it’s going to be completely worth the wait. We’re so excited to be getting SO close to finally being able to move in. #1 most exciting thing to me is finally giving Bear the nursery/room that I’ve had planned for her since the day I found out , after the initial shock, that she was a girl. ;)

Some of these are from my SLR.. some from my point and shoot and some from my iPhone.. so please forgive the inconsistent quality. The second to last shot from inside the house is upstairs showing part of my office and studio! I can’t waaaiiit to be working in there. The last image is the most recent that I’ve been able to take.. from a couple of days ago on my iPhone while I was on the way home.

I am SO ready to be IN the house. SO ready to be UNPACKED and have things back to normal. We’ve been in the rent house.. with pretty much everything except day to day things and clothing, packed away in boxes and stored for a whole year now. To say that I am anxious is an understatement.

Today I discovered something funny with one of Bear’s toys. She was annoyed, but allowed it. :)

I also want to point out, again, how blessed I am to have such sweet clients. :) Today when I got home I had a surprise at my door. Elise had sent me the cutest pair of shoes!!! My client sent me SHOES. WOO HOO!!!! :) Thank you SO much again Elise. :) (Crummy camera phone pic.)

I also received an EXTREMELY sweet email a week or so ago, from one of my 2011 brides that I am REALLY looking forward to working with. (Jessica) I can’t tell you how much it made my day WEEK. :) Thank you again Jessica! Can’t wait to work with you!!!!

I now have 4 dates remaining in December for portrait sessions. No openings before then!! As far as inquiries for mini sessions.. I will possibly be accepting a few mini sessions in January-February.. depending on my schedule. I’ll post the info on facebook if I’m able to take them!! 2011 is going to be a great year! I’m already going to Vegas and Mexico for weddings!! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year is going to bring!! :)

I also had a great shoot with Paris Baby earlier today. Looking forward to showing off some of their new goodies as well as some of the super cute things Briley came away with as well. ;) Post coming in the next day or so. :)
